CURRENT JOB OPENING:
HEAD GOLF PROFESSIONAL
The Head Golf Professional will oversee and manage the golf operation. . The position will promote an exceptional “golf experience,” and provide excellent services and programs for all patrons.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise assigned staff including assistant and teaching professionals, golf shop staff, outside staff, starters and rangers.
- Oversee the administration of the handicap program.
- Meet, greet, and welcome prospective customers/patrons.
- Enforce all rules and regulations governing golf course usage.
- Interpret and enforce The Rules of Golf.
- Oversee the operations of a well-managed practice facility.
- Assist in the publication of newsletters and informational and promotional materials.
- Compile information from market competition for comparison studies to properly position the facility in the marketplace.
- Develop and utilize email and web-based communications with customers/patrons to publicize and promote activities and programs.
- Maintain active membership in good standing with the PGA of America.
- Attend conferences, workshops, meeting, and trade shows to keep abreast of current information and developments in the field.
- Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the community.
Candidate Profile:
“Esprit de Corps” manager, positive and engaged leader and team player. Exceptional skills in public/employee relations.
Candidate Preferred Experience (portfolio, exhibits, documents, etc.):
- Financial accountability. Control systems for daily cash transactions, merchandise, inventory, labor costs.
- Budget management, financial/market position analysis
- Training strategies. Staff professionalism in customer engagement, service and hospitality, tee sheet/pace of play management.
- Marketing and promotion
- Event planning, organizing and execution
- Teaching programs
- Cart fleet management
- Customer relations (i.e. ladies, men’s, social golf clubs)

Primary Responsibilities:
Reports to District Board of Directors
- Secures and protects District assets, including financial, facilities, property and equipment.
- Adheres to and administrates District policies and procedures.
- Ensures financial accountability in accordance with District policies and procedures.
- Ensures staff professionalism and positive promotion of District image, programs, activities and employees.
- Ensures maximum hospitality and customer service that assures an exceptional golf customer experience.
- Ensures positive communication, coordination and cooperation with other District Department managers and staff.
